After hearing wonderful things about steam mops from my friends, I starting doing research on them. I was anxious to retire my Swiffer which, as a mop, was better than nothing, but it left my dark hardwood floors streaky and I felt like I was just pushing the dirt around on the ceramic tile in my kitchen. I borrowed my neighbor’s Shark and after using it one time knew that I wanted a different mop. I was excited to see this new model from Bissell as I had narrowed it down to a Bissell or the Eureka Enviro-Steam. [...] so I decided on the Bissell. The Bissell 31N1 was easy to put together, and includes a hanger so that you can hang your steam mop for storage. I used distilled water since it is supposed to prolong the life of the filter it comes with. The pads are substantial and easy to attach and stay in place while mopping. The unit took a little while to warm up but has an indicator light to tell you when it is ready. In use I saw hot steam pouring out which was great. The floors stayed wet for a while after use, but just like what happens when you mop a floor. I think I was trigger happy so I probably won’t hit the steam button as much next time and try to spread the steam around a little bit better. I did dry the hardwoods after I used it as a precaution and that was fine. I was disappointed to see my hardwood floors were still streaking but a neighbor told me that once all of the other floor cleaners come off the floor (after I continue to use my steam mop), the streaks will go away. I hope so. A cleaning person I used sprayed furniture polish on the hardwoods (argh!) so it might be a while. I still think the floors are wonderfully clean and the mop is easy to swivel around and use with the cord being a nice length. I didn’t have water leak on the floor like the other reviewer but perhaps that is because I removed the water tank immediately after use – not sure. I think you would be happy with this mop. I clean up after a 2 and 4 year old so life is good now.

I just got this mop today and could probably end up on late night infomercials selling the thing. It’s such a huge improvement from what I’d been using previously, which was the Swiffer Wet Jet. I have a fairly large kitchen, with light ceramic tile. My back would go out trying to get hard stains out, and usually if I wanted it truly clean, would end up on my knees scrubbing away. We had thanksgiving dinner for 20+ people last night, and with one sweep I had made my floors cleaner than they’ve been since we moved in (over a year ago). I’m incredibly pleased at the ease and effectiveness of this mop, I would recommend it to anyone!!

The Bissell Steam Mop Deluxe is awesome! It is very simple to put together and easy to use. This product heats up very quickly, maybe one minute or so. I have both ceramic tile floors and hardwood floors. Both turned out wonderfully clean. I didn’t have a problem with excess water afterwards, either. The pads can be washed in the washing machine and reused the next time. This product has made cleaning my floors so much quicker and easier. I would recommend this to everyone!

The only set back from this purchase is the products for use not at many stores. The steam mop cleans well and makes your house smell wonderful. Your floors and rugs seem cleaners than any other was to clean.

The reviews of this product on Amazon helped me make my decision as to which steam mop to buy as well as my daughter. She has the same model and she loves it as do I. It’s so easy to use and does a beautiful job on my kitchen floor. I’ve not tried it yet on the hardwood floors so can’t comment. Very happy with my purchase.

If you think you floors are clean now, wait until you get on of these. The steam cleaning process of this mop is simple to use and the results are amazing. I wouldn’t trade this for anything. The mop is well built yet light and easy to handle. You won’t go wrong with this item.

I love this steam mop. The manufacture already gives you a 1-year replacement warranty, but I don’t even see where I need it. It comes with the CARPET GLIDER, which works great, and the Minty Smelling Distilled Water, that also smells great. It gets hot instantly and it leaves the floor clean and fresh smelling. The floor is damp for about 5 minutes and then dry. (Way better than the sloppy, cold water that is left behind for 20 minutes) I would definitely rate this product as a 10 and I would recommend this to anyone that wants an easier way to mop. The only thing is that is recommends you use Distilled Water, so make sure you purchase that while you are at the store. This is a GREAT deal on this, especially since others are over $100, and they don’t come with other useful attachments.

I saw this advertised on TV about four months ago and thought that it would be a great product to have. We also have the Bissell vacuum for pets and I totally love it, it works so well, so I was sure that this would also be a great product. I bought mine from another retailer after lusting after it on amazon for the last four months and it recently was delivered to my house. You have to screw the mop head to the machine and the handle into the machine and then that’s it! You just snap in the filter and reservoir and you are ready to start mopping. The kitchen now smells amazing since I totally used the bottle of eucalyptus mint distilled water that came with the machine – and the best part, the floors are not sticky! That was something I always hated about the Swiffer wet jet – the floors were always sticky afterward, especially when my hubby would mop. Not to mention you just toss the mop pad into the washer right afterward and you’re all set! I can’t wait to try this with the carpet refresher attachment. Totally worth the money and the wait to have it delivered (since I couldn’t find anyplace in town that had it in stock)!
